BCA (SA) represents all categories of its members to the community and government. The sectors into which the South Australian road passenger transport industry divides are city and long-distance route services, charter and tour operations, and school bus services contracted to the Education Department.
Route Service
Route Service operators fall into two groups. These services, operated under contract to the Office of Public Transport cover the metropolitan area services, and the regional route services both licensed and/or under contract to the OPT.
BCA (SA) has been directly involved in the contractual arrangements for the latter group, and monitors the performance of this sector on behalf of its members.
It also liases with those metropolitan area operators who are members of the Association on all industry-wide matters.
Tour and Charter
A highly competitive open market exists for tour and charter operations in South Australia. The membership of BCA (SA) includes the major operators, as well as many smaller operators in niche markets, who all conform to the ethical, legal and industrial standards of the industry.
BCA (SA) helps any member of public seeking advice or contact details in regard to its members. It maintains an independent role and supports all its members equally.
